The story of Sole Encounters Foundation begins with Sole Encounters Adventures, a trekking and adventure company founded by Prem Bahadur Tamang, an experienced professional in Nepal’s tourism industry. While guiding travelers through the Himalayas, Prem saw not only the natural beauty of Nepal but also the challenges of rural communities where families often lack access to healthcare, education, and basic resources. Together with Prashant Nepal, he turned this awareness into action by establishing the Foundation.
When you book a trip with Sole Encounters Adventures, a percentage of the proceeds is invested into our community programs. This ensures that every journey creates a direct impact, supporting education, healthcare, women empowerment, and welfare projects in rural Nepal.
Our Foundation focuses mainly on supporting rural areas, where help is needed most. We provide school charities, educational support, winter clothing, and healthcare outreach, and we are working to expand with equipment supplies and future clinic programs. We also organize volunteer opportunities, giving guests the chance to stay with local families, teach English in schools, and learn about Nepalese communities and culture. For those who want to combine adventure with purpose, we also arrange custom holiday packages with meaningful contributions.
One of our strongest missions is Women,s Empowerment, helping women in rural areas gain education and skills for independence. Through primary surveys, literacy programs, and vocational training, we work to build confidence and opportunities for women, which strengthens entire communities.
