How Trekkers Make a Difference Beyond the Trails
When travelers book a trek, many wonder: “How does my trip help the local communities?” At Sole Encounters Adventures, the answer is simple. Your trek supports our initiative, managed through the Sole Encounters Foundation, called Empowering Children Through Education.
Through this project, a portion of every trek fee goes directly into our community fund. With this, we provide books, uniforms, and learning materials to village schools, sponsor teachers in rural areas, and support children who would otherwise struggle to continue their education.
Trekkers also play a role in spreading responsible tourism. By joining activities like our Clean the Himalayas treks, travelers not only enjoy breathtaking landscapes but also contribute to preserving the environment for future generations.
So far, we have supported children in Langtang and Tamang heritage villages. At the end of this year, we are expanding to Kavre and Nuwakot districts in Province 3, Bagmati, Nepal, where 50 underprivileged children will receive winter clothing and essential school supplies. This will ensure that they can stay warm and continue their studies during the cold season.
We want to be clear that we are not just writing these words. Sole Encounters Adventures and the Sole Encounters Foundation are honest in their mission, and we truly want to support local communities in meaningful ways. Our projects are not for marketing alone. They are real commitments to people in need.
We know from experience that healthcare and education are not free in Nepal, and the poorest families struggle the most. Nepal is a developing country, and many communities are still waiting for basic opportunities and support. That is why we feel a deep responsibility to contribute where we can.
Our Long-Term Vision
Our efforts are not limited to 2025 and 2026. We are committed to continuing in the years ahead with a clear goal.
We want to help children receive an education and also build careers and brighter futures.
We will provide long-term support that goes beyond classrooms, giving them the skills and opportunities to stand on their own.
Through the Sole Encounters Foundation, we also plan to expand our community outreach to support both children and vulnerable elders in rural and urban areas.
Call for Volunteers and Supporters
We cannot do this alone. We welcome volunteers and contributors who share our vision of uplifting Himalayan communities. You can support in many ways.
Providing educational supplies, winter clothing, or nutritious food.
Sharing skills and time by volunteering in schools or projects.
Helping us raise awareness and funds internationally.
If you would like to help as an individual supporter, please contact us directly. Your contribution, no matter how small, will make a real difference.

Looking Ahead
We are also planning to support communities around the Kathmandu Valley. One of our future goals is to extend help to an old age home, providing food and basic necessities for elderly people who often face hardship.
When you trek with Sole Encounters Adventures, your journey goes beyond reaching mountain passes and base camps. It becomes part of a greater journey of opportunity, education, care, and hope for children, families, and elders in Nepal — all made possible through the work of the Sole Encounters Foundation.
