Nepal Government
The Government of Nepal is the federal authority responsible for governing the country under a multi-party parliamentary republic system. It operates through three levels of administration: federal, provincial, and local governments. The federal government is based in Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal, and is led by the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers.
The Nepal Government works to formulate policies, deliver public services, and manage the country’s resources with the aim of promoting development, stability, and prosperity. Its key responsibilities include education, healthcare, infrastructure development, tourism promotion, environmental conservation, and the preservation of Nepal’s cultural and natural heritage.
Nepal is divided into seven provinces and 753 local bodies, ensuring that governance reaches even the most remote communities. Each level of government has specific powers and duties, guided by the Constitution of Nepal (2015), which established Nepal as a federal democratic republic.
Despite challenges as a developing nation, the Nepal Government continues to focus on improving access to education, providing better healthcare services, creating employment opportunities, empowering women, and supporting vulnerable groups. Partnerships with non-governmental organizations, the private sector, and international donors play an important role in strengthening these efforts.
By working together with civil society and community initiatives, the Nepal Government seeks to build a more inclusive, equitable, and sustainable future for all citizens.
